Let’s start with Our number 5.
This is going to be the favorite of people with nausea and, digestive problems.
Let’s see why!

Number 5 is…
noise…
Ginger tea is a spicy and flavorful drink that packs a punch of healthy, disease-fighting antioxidants.

Actually, there are even studies on kidney disease patients showing that ginger has therapeutic effects in improving renal function.
This is because Ginger is loaded with bioactive compounds and nutrients that are helpful for our brain and body.
Ginger also contains gingerol, a substance with powerful medicinal properties.
It helps fight inflammation and this is more important than people realize:
kidney disease, like other chronic diseases will cause inflammation allover the body.
Ginger tea can help.
Evidence also suggests that ginger may help prevent stomach ulcers and relieve indigestion or constipation
Another benefit, this one especially useful for the ladies here:
According to several studies, ginger is as effective as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs at relieving period pain.
But without all the nasty side effects these drugs have. Great!
Now, ginger tea is most of all a great way to relieve nausea.
How to Make Ginger Tea?
I tested several methods, and the easiest way is truly the best way. Here’s how to do it:

Thinly slice your fresh ginger. Use about a one-inch piece of ginger per cup of tea.
In a saucepan, combine the ginger with fresh water (use one cup of water per serving).
Bring the mixture to a boil over high heat. Reduce the heat as necessary to maintain a gentle simmer.
Simmer for five minutes (or up to 10 minutes, if you want extra-strong tea). I usually think it's pungent enough at five minutes.
Pour the tea through a fine sieve to catch all of the ginger. If desired, serve your tea with a thin round of lemon or orange for some complementary acidity.

You might also appreciate a light drizzle of honey which will temper the fiery ginger flavor.
But you may prefer to drink it without honey or to use a little bit of stevia if you suffer from diabetes or prediabetes.
Just a quick heads up, before starting to use any home remedy, talk to your doctor and see if it’s safe for you!

Mmm smells really good! It’s also healthy, and it’s just our number 5!
Ok, time for our number 4 now!
This is even more powerful than ginger tea when it comes to fighting the inflammation.
But it also has powerful detoxing properties!

Number 4 is…
noise…
Nettle leaf is known as the mother of all healthy tonics for more than one reason:
It’s packed full of healthy minerals and has cleansing properties to support your whole body, especially your urinary tract.
It also has an amazing taste, it’s sure to make you feel better.
Nettle leaf tea is made from stinging nettle, an herb also known as nettle or stinger which is… pretty dangerous when found in the garden!
It’s steam and leaves are completely covered in needle-like hairs that contain irritating compound!
it causes a painful burning sensation and rash in case of contact.
Ok, don’t worry if I’m touching it with my bare hands, when the leaves are dried there’s no more irritating compound in them and they are absolutely safe to touch or to consume.
But remember to use gloves if you want to harvest it by yourself!
To make nettle leaf tea, just use 1 tablespoon of dried leaves per cup of water.
let sit for five minutes.

SO, WHAT ARE THE HEALTH BENEFITS OF nettle leaf tea?
While it can cause rash and a burning sensation when touched accidentally, the dried leaves of stinging nettle are actually known for their anti-inflammatory and pain reliever properties.
In a recent study, people suffering from arthritis pain have been shown to get the same result in terms of reducing pain they would have got from NSAIDs when they used stinging nettle extract.
The participants of this study were actually able to reduce their dose of pain medications thanks to this herb.
Now, this is really important for us because an herb that can reduce inflammation is going to help a lot in fighting an inflammatory disease like CKD.
This herb is actually approved in Germany and France for the treatment of urinary problems.
Not many herbs are approved as a detox therapy, so this should already say a lot about the properties of stinging nettle.
Actually, other than being an anti-inflammatory, stinging nettle has also diuretic properties, so it can be used to help the kidneys getting rid of excess toxins and fluids.

Our number 3
This is both a great alternative to coffee and a remedy to make you live longer!

Let’s see our number 3

noise…

green tea!

Many people think that this is just regular tea, but actually green tea is really healthy, it can even help repair your kidneys.
But let’s see what makes it so healthy!
Studies have linked green tea to a variety of impressive health benefits, including a lower risk of heart disease and cancer.
It’s especially good for your heart, several studies have found that the polyphenols in it may help relax blood vessels. And that’s great for your kidneys too.

Many of the benefits of Green tea are due to its high catechin content.
Green tea is not processed much before it’s poured in your cup, so it’s very rich in Catechins.
These Phytonutrients, exclusive to the tea plant, fight and may even prevent cell damage.
They’re so powerful that, according to the Japanese, can help you live longer.
A very big study, made on 40,530 Japanese adults and lasted over 11 years, found out that
those who drank the most green tea – 5 or more cups per day – were significantly less likely to die during the study period.

This makes green tea one of the most heart healthy beverages out there!
Now, don’t forget that heart health is crucial for your kidneys.
So, don’t overlook green tea because it “just” helps your heart!
Actually, green tea can also help you fighting diabetes and improving insulin sensitivity.
Diabetes is the main cause of CKD in the world, so I am absolutely going to say that green tea can help you protect your kidneys!

Now, the only thing you should keep in mind about green tea is to avoid consuming them with meals.
Teas/Coffee will prevent absorption of some minerals like iron, very important for people with kidney disease.
So, drink your tea a couple of hours away from your meals.

One last benefit of green tea: it’s a great alternative to coffee. And this may be more important than you think, because the caffeine in coffee can raise your blood pressure.
Green tea is great if you want to decrease the amount of caffeine you get without going cold turkey.
A cup of tea has about 100mg of caffeine or less, depending on the brew, while a cup of coffee has twice or more this amount of caffeine.

Now, talking about teas, my advice is to always avoid bottled teas and other soft drinks.
The reasons are several. Very first is sugar. If you check the label on one of these bottles, you’ll often find sugar as the first ingredient.
Yes, you’re basically drinking liquid sugar here and that’s the single worst thing you can do to your health.
Even worse than eating sugar rich foods, because there’s no fats or protein in here to slow down the absorption of all this sugar.
Diet or no sugar teas and sodas are unhealthy too, especially for your kidneys.
Third thing is hidden phosphorus. Phosphates are often used as preservatives in bottled teas and other soft drinks.
Very dangerous for people with kidney disease.
Really, if corporations cared about your health, which they don’t, these bottles should come with a big, red, label that says “dangerous for your kidneys”.
So, brewed teas are very healthy while bottled ones, generally, aren’t.

Time for our number 2, now.
This powerful home remedy has been revered for centuries in herbal medicine for its wide array of benefits.

Number 2 is…

noise…

Horsetail
This is an herbal remedy that has been used to treat renal problems since the times of the ancient Romans and Greeks!
Also known as Puzzlegrass, this plant is very useful for people suffering from fluid retention.
Its gentle diuretic properties will naturally promote the healing process of your kidneys by helping them removing the unwanted toxins from the body.
Thanks to its antioxidants, horsetail can also prevent the accumulation of free radicals in the kidneys, reducing the damages done by oxidation.
Another great benefit, horsetail is known for its blood sugar lowering properties.
Beyond these benefits, horsetail has also been used for skin and nail care, wound healing, osteoporosis, and bone repair.
Some researchers hypothesize that the plant’s possible health benefits may be due to a mineral called silica.
The mineral helps your body store calcium needed to heal bones, and to build strong fingernails and hair.

This herb grows all around the world, so it should be really easy to find and inexpensive, both online or in physical stores.
If you buy it, always check that the cones are green and not brown.
That means that the plant has been harvested at the right time.
This is the aerial part of the plant, and we’re going to use it to make a powerful tea to help with kidney function.
By the way, if you don’t know how to find the herbs I’ve shown you today, check the description below.
Now, to make a tea, just use 1 teaspoon of horsetail for every 2 ounces of boiling water, and let in infusion for at least 15 minutes.
Strain and serve!

Time for our number one now!
I’m ending this top 5 with one of the best beverages you can use to lower blood pressure.
This is something you should drink daily, in my opinion, if you have kidney disease.

And our number 1 is…

noise…
Chamomile tea!
You may already know that a nice cup of chamomile tea in the evening can help you sleep better, but do you know that sleep quality greatly affects the health of your kidneys?
This is why chamomile tea will help your kidneys in more than one way.
But it also promotes digestive health and, most of all, it is proven to lower your blood pressure and fight stress.
Yes, chamomile is definitely one of the best beverages to improve your kidney health, and it’s perfectly safe to drink it every evening!

I really love chamomile tea, it can really help you.
But of course, no one tea alone will protect you from disease.
Your health is wrapped up in your lifestyle and way of eating, so even if you drink green tea all day long, you also need to take care of yourself in other ways, like not smoking, being active, and eating a healthy diet.

So, if you want to know more about the healthy way of eating to repair your kidneys, you may be interested in this video up here.

This is all for today, thank you for watching.
