Inflammatory diseases are both very common and very dangerous for your kidneys.
They can cause arthritis, high blood pressure, cancer and they will make kidney disease progress faster.
The good news is these foods have anti-inflammatory benefits so potent they can ease joint and arthritis pain and they may even help slow down kidney disease!
nuff said Let’s start immediately, let’s see our number 7!
This one is a snack! And I bet many of you didn’t know how healthy this food is!

Watch on Youtube

Oh, almond butter!
Almond butter
And yes, this snack is very healthy! Because it’s made from… almonds!
Yes, just one ingredient. So I’m not talking about the peanut butter many commercial brands sell.
That’s full of salt and even sugar and it’s basically junk food.
Almond butter made from raw almonds is totally different.
First of all, almonds are very rich in healthy fats – monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats – to fight the inflammation in the body.
And it does not just work in theory – according to a big study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, almonds and nuts consumption in general are inversely associated with inflammatory markers.
Yes, this butter may actually help you fight inflammation.
And also, this butter is probably be the best friend of people wanting to lose weight.
Because, according to several studies, eating almonds moderately can effectively speed up weight loss.
Not to mention that almonds are one of the best sources in the world of magnesium – great to lower blood pressure and help your kidneys improve.
And it’s wonderful that you can find all these benefits in a tasty butter.
Don’t worry, I’ll show you how to find this one in a moment.
I’ll also do a taste test. 😉
Now, QUESTION: is eating anti-inflammatory foods going to help with kidney health?
According to several studies, chronic inflammation is very common in people suffering from kidney problems.
And chronic inflammation is not a condition you should underestimate.
It can cause or worsen insulin resistance, hardening of the Arteries, hypertension and more.
These symptoms can cause kidney disease to progress faster.

So, the foods and snacks of today’s video can lower your blood pressure, help you lose weight and fight the inflammation – all according to science.
Guys, if you think this information is useful, share it with anyone you know who may benefit from a healthier diet!

But how does almond butter taste like? I mean, this is made from just a single ingredient: almonds.
Is it going to taste as good as the salty and sugary peanut butter you usually find on supermarket shelves?
Let’s taste it!
Oh, this is a real snack! It’s a bit dry, because it doesn’t contain added oil… but I really like that it tastes like real almonds!
I bet this one is fantastic in a sandwich with some jam. And when you think about the benefits it’s impressive.
Just remember that, just like almonds and other nuts, almond butter is rich in a lot of things, including potassium and calories. So be very mindful of portion control.
And, as usual, consult your doctor before making changes to your diet, if you have kidney disease.
Ok, time for the number 6. We have started with a snack with powerful health benefits, how is the next food going to top that?
Let’s see it!

Oh, what do we have here! Sweet Green pepper – Capsicum ‘Lipari’
Sweet peppers! Have you ever seen anything like this?
These peppers come from Italy, they are called “Peperoni Cornetto” here.
And they boast impressive health benefits.
They contain lutein – a plant compound with powerful anti-inflammatory properties that work especially well to improve heart health and blood pressure.
If this isn’t enough, sweet peppers are low in potassium, just 88 mg per half cup serving and pack a lot of vitamins and nutrients to improve the health of your kidneys.
They are especially rich in vitamin C, vitamin A, vitamin B6 and folic acid.
This is why pepper and bell peppers in general are considered one of the most kidney friendly foods on the planet.
Now, these pepper I have here have a hotter flavor than regular bell peppers.
So if you want to prepare recipes that call for a little heat, these are great.
It’s the first time I can find sweet peppers this season and I cannot wait to taste them!
But the way I like them best is raw! Let’s taste them!
mmm… this is sweet and crunchy! It’s less/more spicy than it looks!
I like it! Can’t wait to grill them with my cast iron skillet!
You know this is the perfect dish to get plenty of iron and to fight anemia!
Question, should you settle for regular bell peppers if you cannot find these?
Absolutely! Bell peppers are incredibly healthy, and low in potassium. Eat them regularly!
Time for the next superfood! This one may help strengthen your immune system, improve your digestion and even reduce your risk of certain diseases!
Impressive! Let’s see it!

Sauerkraut is a really incredible superfood! Basically, this is a recipe made from cabbage, that has been fermented by lactic acid bacteria.
So don’t get fooled by the appearance, this is one of the superfoods with the most powerful health benefits you can find!
Because while fermentation was initially used, more than 2000 years ago, to improve shelf life of foods, today we know that this process can deliver health benefits far beyond those of fresh cabbage.
Sauerkraut is a good source of iron, vitamin c and vitamin b6 – and it is also very low in potassium.
It’s also known to promote digestion, heart health and gut health.
And obviously it can also help fight the inflammation – this is essential for a food to be in today’s video.
But it does it in a very different way than many of the other foods of this top 7.
In fact, many of the benefits of sauerkraut are due the beneficial probiotics it contains.
According to studies, Probiotics may have a positive impact on inflammation by improving the health of the intestinal tract.
It all has to do with the gut microbiome, the environment of bacteria that live in your gut, which potentially affects your immune system, your weight, and your risk for certain chronic diseases, including kidney disease.
And, when it comes to probiotics, sauerkraut is a real powerhouse: it may contain up to 28 different strains and up to 1 billion of colonies forming unities per single gram.
These numbers means that you just need to eat a very small portion of this superfood daily to get the significant benefits probiotics offer.
Now, if you want to try sauerkraut,
Many brands advertise the probiotic content on the label – and that’s a great way to know that the product has been prepared the right way.
Actually, if real sauerkraut wasn’t so hard to find, it could have been in the top 3 today!
It couldn’t have won, ok, our number 1 today is really something else.
But the benefits of sauerkraut are amazing.
Ok, let’s taste it, shall we?
Ok, this tablespoon has enough probiotics to be beneficial.
And it tastes pretty mildly, actually. You can put this in a toast or in a salad without problems.
And it’s a wonderful side dish.
Ok, let’s move on!
Next one is – incredibly – even healthier than sauerkraut! Can you believe it?
Let’s check it out!

Goji berries!
Oh, I can’t believe I’ve never talked about goji berries!
They have incredible benefits for your kidney health!
For thousands of years, Goji Berries have been used in ancient Chinese medicine to support longevity, to maintain eye health, and strengthen liver and kidneys.
And, if you have ever wondered whether goji berries actually live up to their superfood reputation, you will be impressed to find out that just 1 ounce of raw goji berries contains 250% of the daily requirement for vitamin C!
Now, vitamin C is an anti-inflammatory vitamin that can significantly treat and reduce the inflammation markers in hypertensive and/or diabetic patients.
Researchers also think that anti-oxidants in Goji berries help in removal of free radicals and other toxins that burden the kidneys.
Beta-carotene, for example, helps the kidneys filter toxins out of the blood, according to several studies. And the amount of beta-carotene in goji berries is among the highest of all edible plants.
What’s more, Goji berries are a powerful source of a unique phytochemical called Zeaxanthin, which plays a crucial role in supporting the immune system and has kidney protective benefits.
Not to mention that the levels of thiamine vitamin B1 in Goji berries are so high they may even act as a natural stimulant, to make you feel less tired.
Now, goji berries have some side effects too. Actually, they could have been a lot higher in this top 7 if it wasn’t for these side effects.
Side effects: goji berries may interact with certain drugs, including blood thinners and medications for diabetes or high blood pressure – meaning that they will make the effects of these drugs more powerful.
This is not necessarily a bad thing, actually. Goji berries may be helpful in controlling the release of sugar into the blood.
Still, if you’re taking medications or have underlying health conditions, you may want to talk to your healthcare provider before adding goji berries to your diet.
It’s tough to find fresh goji berries usually, because they have a short shelf-life and aren’t widely grown for commercial use.
So, you’re more likely to find goji berries sold as dried berries. Always buy unsweetened.
So, let’s see what dried, unsweetened, goji berries taste like.

Now, before we move on to the top 3:

Kidney health tip of the day.
Following an anti-inflammatory diet is easier than you think. Here are some simple rules of thumb

  • Eat more plants. Whole plant foods have the anti-inflammatory nutrients that your body needs.
  • Focus on colors. Foods with red, violet and orange color are richer in antioxidants and anti-inflammatory molecules,
  • Get your Omega-3s. omega-3 fatty acids are associated with lower levels of inflammation. Getting enough from the diet is not always possible, so consider supplementing them.
  • Eat less meat. Meat is unhealthy for people with kidney problems. Is a source of protein and it’s also inflammatory.
  • You can stop inflammation if you avoid foods that cause inflammation.
They also include refined sugar, fried and high fat foods.
So, follow an healthy, plan based diet to maximize the benefits of the superfoods of today’s video and improve the health of your kidneys!
Ok guys, wanna know what’s in the top 3?
Next one is a kidney friendly replacement for potatoes! Let’s see it!

number 3 is

These veggies are just wonderful.
First because they are full of plant compounds called glucosinates, which have powerful anti-inflammatory properties.
They break down into indoles and isothiocyanates, both of which are bioactive byproducts with anti-inflammatory properties.
Very interesting, these substances have been shown in tube studies to significantly reduce inflammation and injury done by inflammatory conditions.
They have also been associated with lower rate of cancer.
What’s more, these root vegetables are loaded with fiber and vitamin C. vitamin C is a powerful anti-inflammatory .
They are also a decent source of vitamin B6 and manganese.
Turnips are especially kidney-friendly because they make an excellent replacement for vegetables that are higher in potassium like potatoes and winter squash.
Actually, one medium sized turnip provides just a little bit more than 200mg of potassium, while a similarly sized potato has three times more potassium
Also, Turnips can be cooked almost any way you’d cook a potato. They can be roasted in the oven, boiled, steamed, cooked in the microwave, sauteed on the stove, or even grilled.
And, unlike potatoes, you can eat them raw!
Never discard the greens when you buy turnips. Turnip greens are healthy, like many greens, but are exceptionally low in potassium. Just half the potassium in kale, for example.

Time for our number 2 now! This is a superfood well know for its kidney protecting properties!
Let’s see it!

number 2 is

Oh, Cranberries!
Cranberries contain more antioxidants than many other commonly eaten fruits and berries, but the best-known health benefit of cranberries is their ability to reduce the risk of urinary tract infections (UTIs).
This is absolutely great for people with kidney problems because, you know, the kidneys are part of the urinary tract and UTIs are both common and dangerous.
And cranberries contain A-type proanthocyanidins, an active ingredient capable of cleansing your body from harmful bacteria and viruses that may be lingering in your urinary tract.
What not many people know, is that Cranberries may reduce the risk of other infections as well.
H. pylori is a type of bacteria that can cause stomach ulcers and cancer.
A number of studies have shown that cranberries can prevent H. pylori from attaching to the stomach wall and thus prevent infection.
Cranberries have also shown various benefits for heart health.
Many studies have found that eating cranberries can reduce cholesterol, blood pressure, oxidative stress, and “stiffness” of arteries
Cranberries can be eaten dried, cooked or fresh. They are very low in potassium, phosphorus, and sodium.
But if you find them dried, like these one I have here, double check for sugar content. Some brands add sugar to make cranberries taste sweet, but this will reduce the health benefits.

Almost time for our number one! This is even better than cranberries, it’s a drink actually.
It’s a healing beverage you can easily prepare at home, in just one minute!
But before I show you what it is, there’s one more thing I want you to know about.

A lot of kidney disease patients are using this program to improve their kidney function and lower their creatinine levels.

I’m leaving a link down in description, check it out to know more!

And our Number 1 is…

Golden milk!
No, don’t worry, despite the name, golden milk is not dairy. It’s a healing beverage made from powerful spices!
And it’s the most anti-inflammatory drink in the world. Well, at least in my opinion, obviously, since it has won today’s top 7!
Now, the benefits of this drink are … powerful.
If you drink this milk regularly, you may benefit from its amazing antiseptic, anti-inflammatory properties, anti-microbial, anti-allergic properties, which may help in preventing as well as curing several diseases.
How is this possible? Well, golden milk is made from some of the most powerful anti-inflammatory spices in the word: curcumin, ginger and black pepper.
And many people don’t know this, but a study showed that consuming 500 milligrams (mg) of curcumin was as effective as taking 50 mg of a common arthritis medication at reducing inflammation.
There’s only one problem with golden milk. Almost all recipes you can find for it are full of honey, maple sirup, agave or some other sugary sweetener. And, while many people unfortunately think these sugar substitutes are healthy, they are not.
They are sugar, basically of the most inflammatory food on the planet.
Well, don’t worry, I have a better recipe. It’s very easy to make, actually.
We just need almond milk, 2 cups. I prefer almond milk because it’s the most kidney friendly milk alternatives.
Let’s warm it up.
Now, in a cup let’s combine
1 tsp ground turmeric
1/4 tsp ground ginger
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 Tbsp coconut oil
1 pinch ground black pepper. Black pepper is very useful, it will make the curcumin in turmeric available to the body.
Let’s add the milk slowly and mix it.
Ta da! Done!
Let’s just add stevia to taste. A lot healthier this way!
