Overweight participants who enjoyed almonds as part of a low-calorie diet, lost 50 percent more fat overall compared to the other test group.

Just be careful: while grapefruit is lower in potassium than other citrus fruit, the same plant compounds that makes you lose weight may also interact with certain medications.
Most common are statins. So, while this fruit is incredibly healthy, don’t eat it at the same meals you take medications.

Psyllium husk
Psyllium is a form of fiber made from the husks of the Plantago ovata plant’s seeds.
In a study, people taking 3.5 g twice a day of it to lose weight were able to lose 3.3kg, or 7.3lbs from this supplement alone.

How is this even possible?
This supplement is pure soluble fiber.
There are two types of fiber, soluble and insoluble.
Insoluble is healthy, but soluble fiber is awesome!
It has a ton of health benefits.
It mixes with water to form a viscous gel-like substance.
This helps slow down the delivery of digested food from the stomach to the intestines, which is great to lower cholesterol levels and prevent blood sugar spikes.
This is why it protects the kidneys.
And, very interestingly, soluble fiber may also help suppress cravings and appetite and reduce visceral fat, the most dangerous type of body fat.

How should you take psyllium husk for weight loss?
Mix a tsp of psyllium husk, or around 4 grams, in a glass of water and let it absorb the water.
Drink it in 2 or 3 minutes, before it’s too dense.

Psyllium could delay the absorption of certain medications; therefore, doctors often recommend avoid taking it with other medicines.
So talk to your doctor and find a way to take it safely.
Doses of 5-10 g three times per day do not appear to have serious side effects.
However, people may notice some cramping, gas, or bloating.
To avoid this, take in smaller doses first and increase the dose gradually.
