But now let’s see what’s inside our number 5!
This is going to be a real surprise, I bet you didn’t know how healthy this one really is!
Red wine
Red wine IS healthy, and that’s a fact.
Just one glass once a day can lower your blood pressure and your risk for heart failure.
And, maybe you didn’t know this, red wine has been proven to greatly decrease the risk for kidney disease too!
Because it contains high quantities of resveratrol, a polyphenolic compound that can help you lowering both cholesterol and blood pressure.
Absolutely great for the health of the kidneys!
And there’s a great quantity of data proving this, we’re talking about a study conducted on more than 12.000 people and published in the Journal of Renal Nutrition.
Researchers were able to prove an association between wine consumption and a whopping 23% decreased risks of developing chronic kidney disease.
Incredible!
Now, this is a study published at the end of 2019.
It is actually the last of many, many studies about the health properties of wine.
I’m wondering why all these researchers seem to really like to put a lot of alcoholic beverages in their experiments…
Ok, ok, I’m just kidding, researchers are not alcoholics.
According to this wealth of studies, other health benefits of drinking wine in moderation are a reduced risk of ischemic stroke, diabetes and heart disease.
But, remember that moderation is the key here.
Alcohol abuse damages the kidneys and several other organs.
So a glass of red wine in the evening is ok, but three or more are not.
Oh, almost forgot that I cannot drink this.
No, it’s not what you think!
But I can still enjoy our number 4!
Actually, This is my absolute favorite one, I drink it every day for it’s incredible health properties.
This one is actually going to make you live longer. That’s what the Japanese are saying, at least.
Let’s see what’s inside!
Green tea!
I love it. Every morning, I make myself a nice cup of it, with just half teaspoon of organic honey… yes, it’s exactly my cup of tea!
Ok, sorry, bad pun.
But green tea is and extremely serious matter, it can really help your kidneys, okay?!
And, if you know anyone who may benefit from a healthier way of eating… share this video with them now!

Back to green tea, let’s see why the Japanese think it can make you live longer!
They made a very big study on 40,530 Japanese adults, lasted over 11 years.
Those who drank the most green tea – 5 or more cups per day – were significantly less likely to die during the study period.
Up to 23% less likely to die, actually. And up to 42% less death from stroke!
This makes green tea one of the most heart healthy beverages out there!
Now, don’t forget that heart health is crucial for your kidneys.
So, don’t overlook green tea because it “just” helps your heart!
Actually, green tea can also help you fighting diabetes and improving insulin sensitivity.
Diabetes is the main cause of CKD in the world, so I am absolutely going to say that green tea can help you protect your kidneys!
yes, I’ve said it, green tea is healthy!
The good news is, according to a review of several studies, involving more than 286.000 participants, green tea drinkers had an 18% lower risk of diabetes.
Great for the kidneys!
Now excuse me, I still haven’t had my cup of green tea today!
Time for the number 3 of today! Even better than green tea, this one is especially useful for the health of the whole urinary tract, not just the kidneys!
Our Number 3 is…

Cranberry juice
Cranberry juice and cranberries are one of the best options for preventing UTIs naturally.
Several studies have been done on the subject.
And there isn’t any doubt left on the effectiveness of Tannin, cranberries active compound, as a natural remedy against UTIs.
It prevents the adhesion of bacteria to the bladder and urethra walls.
And remember that UTIs are both common and dangerous for kidney disease patients.
Cranberries also contain quinic acid, a compound that prevents the formation of kidney stones.
Another benefit, cranberry juice is low in potassium, so it can be safely drank by patients with very low kidney function.
Even if you’re in Stage 4 of chronic kidney disease with elevated creatinine levels you can still drink this!
But find Pure, unsweetened cranberry juice because added sugars are absolutely bad for your kidney health, okay?
This is rich in antioxidants, fibers and Vitamin C, and your body needs all these nutrients.
Because cranberry juice can help not just with kidney ailments but as an immunity booster, prevention for cardiovascular problems and even cancer.
However, supermarket juice is often diluted with many other juices and is full of sugar and preservatives.
What you should be looking for is 100% organic cranberry juice. Or cranberry supplements.
Is cranberry juice not your thing? It’s not essential that you drink your cranberries.
Research also suggests a similar effect from the consumption of other cranberry products, including dried cranberries and dietary supplements.
With news like this, there’s no need to wait until Thanksgiving to enjoy cranberries.
Consider adding cranberry products to your grocery list.
But not before seeing the next one!
Our number 2 can help you fighting anemia, a very dangerous condition that causes fatigue in kidney patients!
Time for our number 2
Let’s see what’s inside!

Lemon Water
This is especially healthy and tasty if you make it with organic lemons!
I’m really happy when I can still find them these days, I really love lemon water.
It is a favorite of health-conscious people for a lot of reasons.
First of all, lemon water is heart healthy alright?
Lemons are a good source of vitamin C, great for your heart.
Fruit and vegetables rich in vitamin C reduce your risk of heart disease and stroke.
And plant compounds in lemons have also been found to lower cholesterol.
Lemon water has also an alkalizing effect on the body, really great to support your kidney health
Because the kidneys are responsible for the acid alkaline balance of the body, right?
And this is a process known to put a lot of stress on them.
And, as I was saying lemon water can help you fight anemia.
And a lot of you have been asking me in comment section what can help with anemia.
Yes, it’s a common problem with kidney patients.
How does lemon water help?
Iron deficiency anemia is quite common in kidney patients.
If you feel tired, if you feel weaker than usual and look pale… there’s a great chance that a lack of iron is the cause.
Lemons can help you fighting anemia by improving your absorption of iron from plant foods.
Many greens are great sources of iron, but your intestines don’t absorb it very well.
This is where lemon water can come-in handy.
The Vitamin C and other plant compounds in lemon help you absorb iron.
So, the next time you eat a portion of iron rich veggie, like kale, chia seeds but also red bell peppers or strawberries, be sure to drink a nice glass of lemon water with it!
And if you want to know what other foods are rich in iron and can fight anemia, be sure to watch this video up here!
Time for our number one now!
I’m ending the top 5 with one of the best beverages you can use to lower blood pressure.
This is something you should drink daily, in my opinion, if you have kidney disease.

So, if you just drink one of these and then you sleep even just an hour more, you are already doing something good for your kidney health.
And you will also feel more energetic and rested in the morning.
And, if this isn’t enough for you to start consuming chamomile regularly, do you know that it can also promote digestive health?
Not to mention that the antioxidants present in chamomile are great to lower your blood pressure!
Now, chamomile is definitely one of the best beverages to improve your kidney health, and there are ways to prepare it to make it even more healthy.
