Fact: if you have symptoms such as swelling, in the legs and numb, tingling or constantly cold extremities, it may be due to poor blood circulation.
And while this is a problem especially common in people with kidney disease, you may be surprised at how quickly you can improve it, with the remedies and good habits of today’s video
My name is Katherine and this is 00kidney. Welcome to our journey together to a better kidney health!

Let’s start immediately: are you ready to get rid of swelling, fatigue and maybe even nocturia?
Let’s see the Number 14! this is a food many people never heard about. It’s a snack actually, and it boasts some incredible health benefits!

Watch on Youtube

Wakame Seaweed:
Wakame seaweed is branching out from sushi restaurants and quickly becoming a favorite snack food of health conscious people.
Wakame is one of the major types of edible seaweed. This sea vegetable is widely used in Asian dishes.
It’s sold dry, and after soaking, wakame can easily replace leafy greens in your favorite salads.
Its many health benefits are due to its impressive nutritional profile.
Even in small amounts, it can help boost your intake of minerals like iodine, manganese, folate, magnesium and calcium to help you meet your nutrient needs.
And it’s surprisingly low in potassium, great for people with kidney problems.
But how does wakame help improving blood circulation?
These ocean vegetables are a source of a unique bioactive compound called fucoxanthin – not typically present in land-vegetables – that may boost heart health and improve circulation.
According to a study of the hypotensive effects of wakame, researchers found four weeks of eating several grams of dried wakame reduced blood pressure in the participants.
There’s one negative aspect of wakame, some varieties are too rich in sodium. So double check the ingredient list before buying and Choose high-quality varieties with a low sodium content.

Number 13, an easy good habit with fast results you could pick up even right now
Dry brush your skin daily
Dry brushing is very simple to work into your daily routine and is great for removing dead skin and improving your circulation.
Every morning before you shower, take a dry brush and scrub your skin. But be sure you scrub it correctly.
Yes, there’s a technique to dry brushing your skin: start at your feet and rub in circles up to your heart.
You will see your skin’s surface become incredibly smooth, and you’ll feel your circulation improve.

Number 12, this a super healthy home remedy with kidney protective effects
Bacopa monnieri
also called brahmi, water hyssop and herb of Grace, is a staple plant in traditional Ayurvedic medicine.
Ayurvedic medical practitioners especially revered it for its memory boosting, anxiety reducing and stress relieving properties.
And, according to recent research, this herb may even have a kidney protecting effect.
Now, the reason why I’ve included Bacopa monnieri in today’s video is because it is considered an adaptogenic herb.
Research suggests that Bacopa monnieri helps reduce stress and anxiety by elevating your mood and reducing levels of cortisol, a hormone that is closely linked to stress levels.
And this also makes it great to improve your blood circulation, among other things.
Bacopa monnieri is considered safe and can be purchased online and from health food stores.
It’s available in several forms, including capsules and powders.
Typical dosages for Bacopa monnieri extract in human studies range from 300-450 mg per day – but remember to consult your doctor and see if this remedy is compatible with the medications you may be taking.

Number 11, an incredibly healthy superfood
Ok, if celery is not already a regular on your table, the cardiocirculatory benefits I’ll show you today may make you change your mind.
This veggie has potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties – great to protect your heart, blood vessels and kidneys.
Celery is also considered a negative-calorie food, meaning that it is so low in calories it takes more energy to chew and digest it than what your body can extract from it.
This makes celery the best friend of people wanting to lose weight.
And while maintaining a healthy weight is crucial to a better circulation, celery has even more to offer.
The green veggie contains a compound called 3-n-butylphthalide that restrains rapid fluctuations in blood pressure and also reduces bad cholesterol in the body.
Celery has many other important nutrients, including a high amount of blood circulation supporting coumarins, which help a great deal in alleviating hypertension.
How to eat celery? You can juice it, you can put it in a smoothie or you can simply eat the stalks dipped in olive oil or in your favorite sauce.
But also try the number 10 – a good habit you can implement to improve blood circulation fast.

Number 10
Elevate your legs
Elevating your legs is a great way to take the pressure off of your veins. And you can do it while you’re resting or watching tv!
Yes, this a good habit which is really easy to pick up.
And regularly elevating your legs above your heart comes with a number of benefits, including:
Better blood circulation
Promoting the draining of your veins
And Reducing swelling in the legs
Actually, this works especially well for people with kidney disease in the advanced stages.
It’s a very effective and safe strategy to reduce the edema. How to do it:
For example, when you lie in bed, you can use pillows to elevate your legs.
The goal is to elevate the swollen limb slightly above the level of the heart. This helps the extra fluid move back towards the heart for circulation to the rest of the body.
The reason leg elevation helps swelling is that gravity pulls towards earth. The more the swelling and the longer there has been swelling, the longer and more frequently you need to elevate your legs. Start with 20 minutes twice a day and see if it works for you!
And also try the next home remedy, it has many benefits,

Number 9
Hot Pepper
Delicious hot peppers are great when it comes to adding flavor and hotness to your favorite dishes!
What you should know about hot peppers, is that they get their spicy flavor from a phytochemical called capsaicin, which promotes blood flow to tissues.
Other than having a very hot taste, this phytochemical stimulates the release of nitric oxide and other vasodilators.
Vasodilators allow blood to flow more easily through your veins and arteries by relaxing the tiny muscles found in blood vessel walls.
Nitric oxide in particular will expand your blood vessels, improving blood circulation and lowering blood pressure.
Absolutely great for people with kidney problems!
Actually, these spicy peppers are frequently included in pain-relieving creams because they can encourage blood flow to the affected area.
Both eating hot peppers fresh – maybe in a salad – or adding them as a spice to your dishes may help. But you can also find capsaicin as a supplement, in capsule form.
But also

8 Beetroot
This root vegetable has been gaining popularity as a superfood recently thank to the heap of health benefits it provides: it’s helpful in improving athletic performance, preventing bad cholesterol, supporting kidney health and increasing blood flow while lowering blood pressure.
According to research, this happens due to the nitrate it contains in large amount.
Your body can convert this substance into nitric oxide which, in turn, helps to naturally loosen up your blood vessels and improve the flow of blood to your tissues and organs.
Researchers have found that beetroot juice can lower your blood pressure with an effectiveness comparable to that of blood pressure lowering medications. Incredible!
This is why, in one of my recent videos I have even recommended it as a regular on the table of people with kidney problems.
So try my beetroot juice recipe!
And don’t forget

7 to Get a Massage.
Not only can a massage bring you great relaxation and relief from the stresses of your life, but it can also stimulate your body’s blood flow.
According to research, massages can speed up your circulation. The pressure that the massage applies to your body has the power to move blood through the areas that are congested.
In addition, once the pressure applied during your massage is released, new blood is able to flow in where it once may not have been able to.
The motions of a massage aid in flushing lactic acid from your muscles, but it also helps improve circulation through the lymphatic and cardiovascular systems.
This is why, when the muscles are manipulated effectively by a professional, your body releases chemicals called endorphins that make you feel good.
Some massage therapists even offer treatment using essential oils that may help improve blood flow, such as rosemary, sage, and juniper.

Number 6 Drinking tea
There are many teas that have powerful health benefits for your kidneys: green tea, for example is so rich in antioxidants, it’s considered one of the best sources of antioxidants in the world.
Black tea is richer in caffeine, in theanine and it’s a stronger stimulant, also very healthy.
What they all have in common is their ability to promote cardiovascular health and improve blood circulation. This is true for black tea and green tea as well.
A study published in the journal Circulation, found that black tea improves blood vessel health. Healthy blood vessels help improve circulation.
Another study found that green tea consumption is associated with a lower rate of coronary artery disease.
And you can drink tea every day maximizing the health benefits you can get from it!
Another benefit teas in general can give you is…

Number 5
Get the Proper hydration
Ok, we’re in the top 5 now, all these good habits and home remedies are a must, if you want to improve your circulation.
And proper hydration is something you should strive for everyday: drinking enough water is critical to all aspects of health, including circulation.
Dehydration can damage endothelial cells and promote inflammation in your body, restricting blood flow.
Not to mention that your kidneys will suffer if you are not giving them enough water every day.
What to do about this? maybe drink a glass of water right now? And bring a bottle with you during the day!

Number 4, this tip is definetely one of the most useful to improve your kidney health
Increase Iron intake.
Iron is an essential mineral for the circulatory system. It is required to make hemoglobin, one of the major components of red blood cells, which is needed to carry oxygen.
Everyone needs iron, but kidney disease patients need it more than most other people.
In fact, iron deficiency is so common in people with kidney disease, it is considered the most frequent cause of fatigue.
If you have symptoms such as fatigue, cold hands and feet or headaches, it’s safe to say that iron deficiency anemia is one of the most probable causes.
On the plus side, treating this deficiency may have incredible benefits for your health.
First of all, it will improve your blood circulation: hemoglobin carries oxygen to every single cell of your body, and your body cannot produce it without enough iron.
And while taking iron as a prescription supplement may be the fastest way to get enough of it, adjusting your diet to suit your need for this mineral may be even better.
And yes, it’s possible to get enough iron through your diet too, by eating a lot of leafy green vegetables, legumes, nuts and by cooking in a cast iron skillet.
Planning a good diet to fight anemia in people with kidney problems is not the easiest task, but it’s doable.
This is why I’ve made this video up here. Watch it now or save it for later if you want to know more!

Ok, time for the top 3 healthiest remedies and good habits! Can’t wait to show you them!

Number 3 is Omega 3 fatty acids!
Ok, I must have recommended a diet rich in omega 3s or supplementation at least 100 times in my videos, so I won’t go too much in depth about this one.
Especially because I think that everyone of you guys watching me right now is already getting their recommended daily intake of this essential nutrient.
If you aren’t, consider that omega 3s have powerful, noticeable effects on your blood circulation.
They effectively lower triglyceride levels and increase good cholesterol levels, meaning that your blood will be able to travel more freely in the body.
Isn’t that what we all want?
And there are also studies suggesting that reaching the recommended daily intake of omega 3s may even slow down the progression of kidney disease.
Yes Omega 3s are one of the most powerful remedies you can find.

Number 2 is even more powerful:
Find a way to manage stress!
When a patient has poor circulation, doctors often ask them about their stress levels.
This is because when the body experiences stress, blood vessels constrict.
And, while learning to manage your stress is a great way to drastically improve your health, the effect on your blood circulation may be especially noticeable.
When you’re dealing with a stressful situation, the oxygen demand of your body increases: the body answers by increasing your blood pressure and causing your heart to beat faster and your blood vessels to narrow.
While this works for a short burst of energy, when the situation seems to last indefinitely, all these responses of the body become dangerous.
So, it’s imperative to find healthy ways to deal with everyday stress.
And, while many of the home remedies and techniques we have seen till now may help, there’s one thing that will lower your cortisol levels faster than anything else:
Our number one for today:

Number 1
Regular physical activity
There’s nothing better to improve the health of your cardiovascular system than regular physical activity.
Exercise causes the heart to pump blood into the circulation more efficiently, trains the heart to become more powerful and effectively removes bad cholesterol from the arteries.
This helps lower your risk of heart disease and kidney disease. I’m talking about high cholesterol, high blood pressure and high blood sugar levels.
Yes, exercising regularly can do all of this.
And I bet a lot of you guys were expecting to see this entry as number one today because… well… it’s common knowledge that aerobic exercise improves the ability of the body to carry oxygen to organ and tissues.
What you may not know already is that you don’t need to become a gym buff to get these incredible benefits.
You just need to exercise regularly, ideally 20 or 30 minutes per day.
And you can do it even at home, without any equipment. Did I mention that I’ve created a very easy exercising program especially developed for people with kidney problems?
Maybe this is the right time to check it out, if you already haven’t!
And feel free to ask in comment section if you have any questions!
I really hope the information in this video will be able to help you!
A new video is coming next Tuesday, as usual, if you don’t want to miss it, subscribe and set the notification bell to all.
In the meantime, keep taking good care of your kidneys and be good to yourself.
This is all for today, thank you for watching!
