Katherine from 00kidney here, welcome to our journey together to a better kidney health!
What I have for you today is a top 5 of the fastest ways to get rid of excess uric acid in the body!
+
Never underestimate the danger uric acid poses: this toxin can crystallize inside joints and organs, causing pain and damage!
Every kidney disease patient should be aware of this and should keep their levels under control.
On the bright side, the EASY dietary changes and home remedies I’m going to show you today are proven to lower uric acid levels and will also slow down kidney disease!
+
Don’t miss our number 1 in particular, this is the healthiest coffee in the world!
It’s so full of antioxidants and natural phytonutrients it will reduce the inflammation in the body and lower uric acid levels fast!
It’s also an incredibly tasty way of starting the day.
+
But before that, let’s see what vitamin is proven to help protecting the kidneys from uric acid.

Number 5
Vitamin C
A recent study confirmed that taking this vitamin in a very specific dosage and form can really help detoxify uric acid.
And while vitamin C will also greatly help with kidney health in general, you need to get informed appropriately before starting to take it.
vitamin C is one of the most powerful antioxidants in existence – you absolutely need this vitamin if you want to protect your kidneys.
However, not all the dosages and forms are safe.
+
Now, vitamin C helps get rid of free radicals that can damage cells and tissue, protecting the kidneys.
Studies also prove that supplementing vitamin C can lower your blood pressure, lower cholesterol levels and boost your immune function.
+
But the main reason why we’re interested in this essential nutrient today is its powerful ability to remove uric acid from the body.
So, let’s see exactly how much vitamin C you need to detox uric acid and how fast it will work.
+
Recent research concluded that vitamin C supplementation can SIGNIFICANTLY lower serum uric acid levels.
People took on average 500mg vitamin C and it took just around 30 days to see appreciable results in terms of lowered uric acid.
Which is frankly amazing, so consider supplementing this vitamin.
Now, very important: never take more than 60mg vitamin C a day without a prescription from your doctor.
I’ve talked more in depth about vitamin c in my video up here.

Now guys, I have 4 other even more effective ways of lowering uric acid, including this incredibly tasty recipe I want to show you!
+
Before that, a very important question:

Why is uric acid so dangerous for the kidneys?
High uric acid levels may represent a serious and underestimated issue for people with CKD.
It’s a common problem in patients with chronic kidney disease.
The kidneys are supposed to get rid of excess uric acid, a waste byproduct.
When they can’t, this toxin builds up, and it may cause serious problems.
Gout, for example, which causes permanent damage to bones and joint and lots of pain.
And you should know that 1 out of 10 people with chronic kidney disease have gout – which is caused by uric acid.
And, unfortunately, uric acid can also damage your kidneys – it accelerates the progression of kidney disease.
But guys, don’t worry, there are 4 other remedies and good habits that work even faster than vitamin c.
They can really help protecting the kidneys!
There are in particular some foods you should eat more often – they are known to help the body get rid of uric acid.
Let’s see what they are!

  1. Foods to eat more
First of all, focus on Leafy greens – this is always great advice for good health.
Lettuce, kale, chard, collard greens are particularly great sources of FOLATE.
This B-vitamin plays a crucial role in the metabolism of uric acid.
Especially in hypertensive people, folate lowers blood uric acid levels.
Folate even interferes with the damaging effects that uric acid crystals have on nerves.
So, eat these healthy greens regularly and also consider supplementing this B vitamin!
    +
And don’t forget other plant based foods:
Fruits, veggies, whole grains, nuts, and seeds are packed with fiber.
Fiber is considered a very important factor for protection against gout and uric acid.
Not to mention that fiber is known to protect the health of your kidneys and to fight diabetes and cholesterol.
    +
Some of the healthiest fruits to fight uric acid levels are citrus fruits, such as grapefruit and tangerine.
    And also consider Cherries.
Research suggests that cherries might reduce the risk of gout attacks, particularly in people with a prior history of the disease.

Now guys, some very healthy veggies are also surrounded by misconception:
Spinach, mushrooms, cauliflower and asparagus are considered by some people high in purines and, consequently, unhealthy.
+
Well, you may be relieved to know that vegetables high in purines are not going to increase uric acid levels in the body – especially when you eat them in moderation.
They may actually help lowering uric acid.
+
Ok, guys, we have seen what vitamins and what foods can help with uric acid and kidney health.
And our next entry, the number 3 of this top 5, can give you results even faster because it’s a mineral that many people with kidney problems are deficient in.
It’s also proven to help not just with uric acid but with many aspects of health.

Number 3 Magnesium!
This mineral is crucial to the body’s function.
It helps keep blood pressure normal, bones strong, and the heart rhythm steady.

Unfortunately, Magnesium deficiency is a common yet dangerous one, especially in people with kidney problems.
Having low levels of magnesium is associated with high blood pressure, inflammation and high uric acid levels.
+
What many people don’t know is that supplementing this mineral may actually save your life!
+
If you are having muscle cramps frequently or troubles focusing and sleeping, magnesium deficiency could be a cause.
Luckily, you can easily supplement this essential mineral and get a ton of benefits.
In particular, a recent study linked increased magnesium intake to lower uric acid levels.
Researchers think that it may be due to magnesium ability of fighting chronic inflammation in the body.
+
What you should know about magnesium is that not all doctors recommend supplementing it to people with kidney disease.
This is because – just like potassium – the kidneys don’t filter it well when they’re impaired.
However, unlike for potassium, studies have linked higher serum magnesium levels to LESS mortality in people with chronic kidney disease stage 4 and 5.
+
Still, be safe and consult your doctor – and maybe get tested for serum magnesium levels – before using this cheap but powerful supplement to protect the kidneys from uric acid.
Time now for one of the most effective ways of getting rid of these dangerous toxins.
This is something every single kidney disease patient should be doing, actually.
If you are serious about protecting your kidneys from the dangers of high uric acid levels, what you should do is to always …

Number 2, avoid foods high in purines.
FACT:
Uric acid is created when the body breaks down purine, a substance present in some foods.
Clearly, avoiding foods rich in purine is a great strategy to protect your kidneys.
Most dangerous sources of purines include:

  • Meat, especially organ meat, but also bacon, turkey, goose, veal, venison.
And not many people know it, but completely avoiding meat and protein in general is the most effective way of restoring the health of the kidneys.
I’ve explained how to do this in my recent video.
    +
    And also avoid
  • certain seafoods such as
shellfish, anchovies, sardines, herring, mussels and other types of fish rich in mercury.
They contain large amounts of purines.
  • Now, the worst offender here is probably alcohol.
Excessive alcohol consumption is very dangerous and beer is specifically cited by literature as a beverage to avoid.
The reason is that beer is known to increase people uric acid levels and to reduce the kidney’s ability to clear the substance from the body.
Also, very important thing to avoid: sugary foods and beverages.
Start avoiding all these foods, if you already aren’t.
Besides increasing uric acid levels, all these foods are very unhealthy for people with kidney problems, with no exceptions.
Time now for the healthiest coffee in the world!
This is an incredibly healthy recipe!
The ingredients have powerful anti-inflammatory properties and are full of antioxidants.
Do you want to see it?

Number 1 – the healthiest coffee in the world!
This is a very easy recipe and the best way of starting your day!
Turn it into a good habit to protect and restore the health of your kidneys!
Here’s how to make it!
We need
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon – and not just for the taste, as we have seen
1 tsp ground turmeric – this is basically the most powerful natural anti-inflammatory on earth. It fights kidney disease because it’s heart healthy and it decreases the inflammation in the body.
1/4 tsp ground ginger – very rich in antioxidants and great against nausea among other things
1/2 Tbsp coconut oil – a healthy fat source, great to slow down the absorption of caffeine and make the whole recipe even healthier
black pepper, just a dash of it, but never skip this ingredient. It will make the curcumin in turmeric available to the body.

Let’s combine these ingredients in a cup, adding hot water very slowly.
So, in the meantime I’ve brewed a cup of coffee,
And let’s add some almond milk
And some stevia!
That’s it!
Now you may ask: is coffee really healthy for someone with kidney problems?
Won’t it raise your blood pressure?
The answer to this question may surprise you!
Watch my video up here to know more!
This is all for today, good bye!
