014 days to cleanse your kidneys – most powerful detox tea
Hello everyone, Katherine from 00kidney here. Welcome to our journey together to a better kidney health!
Today, we’re going to prepare and test the most powerful kidney cleanse tea in the world.
This Herbal tea is made to support the health of the kidneys, because it has potent kidney protecting, cleansing and anti-inflammatory effects.
And it’s a tonic for the whole urinary tract, its ingredients also contain compounds that fight Urinary tract infections.
This is a 14 days kidney cleanse which, if part of a healthy diet and lifestyle, may help you detox your body and boost your kidney health.
And I have reasons to think this is one of the most powerful kidney cleanses in the world.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Bd6IIDtyP8
I’ve teamed up with a naturopath here in Italy to create the perfect herbal tea for people suffering from kidney problems.
This is a powerful recipe, so you may have to expect some side effects, like you would from any herbal tea with detoxing properties. There’s a chance of mild discomfort and strong smelling or darkening of the urines. Don’t be alarmed if this happens, this would just mean that toxins and extra fluids are leaving your kidneys and your body.
Still, you need to talk to your doctor before trying this tea if you have chronic kidney disease or if you are taking medications for high blood pressure, diabetes or other conditions.
Ok, this is our first ingredient.
Peppermint leaves
Ok, you’re going to love peppermint leaves, and not just for their wonderful, fragrant smell it will give to our tea.
This ingredient is thought to have a powerful nephroprotective effect, meaning that it protects the kidneys from damage, according to studies.
Results suggest that therapeutic effects may indeed be attributable to the free radical scavenging, antioxidant activities of peppermint.
Great to protect the kidneys!
This herb also has antibacterial properties, which makes it a good choice for controlling bacteria in your kidneys, keeping them healthy and functioning properly, according to the Baseline of Health Foundation.
Peppermint is also used to calm stomach muscles and aid in bile production.
Now, this is an herb I really love. You can make an herbal tea with it, but you can also add peppermint leaves to your regular tea to get the benefits and the incredible smell and taste every day.
So maybe get a little bit more of this one, if you like the flavor as much as I do. You can even buy peppermint fresh at the grocery store or even grow it in a pot at home, even indoors.
Ok, we have 4 more ingredient, next one has very powerful anti-inflammatory and detoxing effects.
And it is…
Juniper berry
These are the berries of the juniper tree, an evergreen shrub that grows in many parts of the world.
They have a tart, pine-like flavor and are commonly used in small amounts as a spice or flavoring agent.
These small berries have been used for culinary and medicinal purposes since ancient times,
Juniper berries were used in traditional medicine practices for purification purposes and as a stimulant for the kidneys and bladder to flush out impurities and toxins
Today research suggests that some of these health benefits for the kidneys may actually be true.
This is because juniper berries are rich in essential oils and flavonoids that function as potent antioxidants and may help reduce inflammation and swelling.
And, according to some research, these berries may also fight high blood sugar levels.
They’re commonly sold dried – either whole or crushed. For our tea, I’ve chosen whole, dried berries and I’m going to crush them manually.
Now, the next ingredient is the best friend of your urinary tract
Third ingredient,
Uva ursi leaves
Uva ursi is a shrub that grows flowers and berries. The leaves are used to make medicine.
This herb has two benefits for us: first, it will reduce the inflammation in the kidney and urinary tract.
And uva ursi is also used in Europe and in traditional herbal medicine in North America as a treatment for UTIs.
Actually, this herb is approved by the German equivalent of the FDA to treat bladder and urinary tract issues.
A fun fact, Bears are particularly fond of uva ursi berries. This explains the Latin name, “uva ursi,” which means “bear’s grape.”
But we’re going to use just the leaves, not the berries, so don’t worry about the bears.
Forth ingredient, a root that can ease the swelling.
4 Marshmallow Root
This root has been used as a folk remedy for thousands of years to treat digestive, skin and other conditions.
This is because Marshmallow root is known to release in the body a very high quantity of the antioxidant glucuronoxylan.
One of the most noticeable property of this root is its analgesic, or pain relieving effect.
A study from 2014 cites research that marshmallow root can act as an analgesic to relieve pain.
So marshmallow root may be an excellent choice for soothing conditions that cause pain or irritation.
Its property may also be useful to ease swelling in the urinary tract and in the other mucus membranes of the body.
It also has diuretic effects, to reduce the buildup of toxins and minerals in the kidneys and the retention of water in the body, also reducing bloating.
Yes, this is a powerful herbal remedy.
Question, does this really work?
I want to answer with a comment I’ve read today on my facebook page.
I thought I was going back to dialysis 12 years after transplant!
but I started watching your videos!
I am on 3rd to 4th stage
but I tried focus and follow those alkaline foods etc
and I was surprised with my blood work results!
3 Weeks ago my creatinine level was 1.1!
for over a year I never had this number!
pausinaaaaa
Oh, thank you very much Asuncion Orpiano for sharing your story! This is a very inspiring message for all of us. Thank you.
So guys, yes, I think this is really going to help you, if you do this cleanse in the context of a healthy diet and lifestyle.
So, let’s see our last ingredient.
Last but not least,
Horsetail.
You may already know this one from some of my previous videos.
Horsetail, also known as Puzzlegrass, contains a very potent antioxidant that works especially well to reduce damage done by oxidation.
This may also prevent the accumulation of free radicals in the kidneys.
It also has gentle diuretic properties, that may naturally promote the healing process of your kidneys by helping them removing the unwanted toxins from the body.
Beyond these benefits, this herb has also been used for skin and nail care, wound healing, osteoporosis, and bone repair.
Some researchers think that the plant’s possible health benefits may be due to a mineral called silica.
The mineral helps your body store calcium needed to heal bones, and to build strong fingernails and hair.
…
…
So, question
how can you find these herbs?
Now guys, all these herbs are grown, mostly for medicinal purpose, all around the world.
This means they should be really easy to find and, also, inexpensive.
Now, personally I like go shopping for my herbs locally.
I’m lucky enough to have a small herbalist shop just around the corner that usually carries all the herbs I need.
So, my suggestion here is to use google maps and try and locate an herbalist shop in your area, ok? that’s what I did to find the herbalist I always use.
This is also, in my opinion, a nice way of supporting a local business.
Now, if you can’t find an herbalist shop near you, there’s always amazon.
On my website, newhopeforkidneypatients.com, I’m maintaining an updated list of all the best supplements, herbs and home remedies for people with kidney disease you can find on amazon.com.
The link is in description but now let’s make our tea!
First of all, here are the right dosages for the herbs.
You need:
Half tbsp of marshmallow root. Let’s put it in this cup.
Half tbsp of juniper berry. Now, this one is usually sold either whole and dried or already crushed.
Mine is whole. So I will need to crush it before preparing the tea. And I broke my old mortar and pestle, so we’re going to use a different approach.
I’ll just put about 10-15 berries in this cup and use the handle of a rolling pin to crush them. Very quick, I don’t really need to make a powder, I just need to break them down so they will absorb more water. Ok, done.
Let’s put half tbsp of crushed juniper berries in the cup with the marshmallow root.
Next, 1/3 tbsp of peppermint leaves and
1/3 tbsp of horsetail and, last
1/3 tbsp of uva ursi leaves.
Now, this tea should be prepared in a special way, like the Chinese do, so the effects of these herbs may be more potent.
before I show you the special preparation this tea requires, there one thing I want to show you.
A lot of kidney disease patients are using this program to improve their kidney function and lower their creatinine levels.
There are some very inspiring success stories here on 00kidney,
people are reversing their kidney disease thanks to what they’re learning from this program.
If you want to give a fast boost to your kidney health, you should consider downloading it.
I’m leaving a link down in description, check it out to know more!
Ok, back to our tea.
We have the herbs ready.
This is the right quantity for one day, or about 30oz of water. That’s a little bit less than a liter of water.
But you need to be sure you are allowed to drink all this water, alright? If you have a water allowance and you can’t drink all this water in a day, consult your doctor and see if this herbal tea is right for you.
Now, as I was saying this is a two-week cleanse, so, to save time you can also prepare all the herbs beforehand and store them already mixed, in an airtight glass container like this one.
Then, each day you would just need to put two tablespoons of mixed herbs in water and make the tea.
So, let’s see the special preparation this tea needs.
These herbs need to soak in water for 2 to 4 hours before making the tea.
This is the traditional Chinese method. They use it to make many types of tea or infusions, to make them stronger.
So, I have already prepared the herbs and I’ve put them in this glass pot this morning. Now they’re ready to boil.
Now, if you want to drink it in the morning, you may also prepare it the night before and let the pot in the fridge.
Then, bring the water to slow boil.
When it boils reduce heat and let simmer for 15 minutes.
Strain, allow tea to cool and drink.
Now, if it tastes too bitter, do not use sugar. Sugar is very unhealthy. I usually recommend stevia as a sweetener, because it’s the safest option.
And I know that recommending to use a sweetener during the holidays may seem strange, because many people let themselves go during this is the time of the year and maybe they start eating too much or skipping workouts. I mean, it happened to me too. But I’m trying to improve myself. I’m trying to avoid eating too much and to workout more.
And I know for sure that you guys watching me right now are doing the same.
So instead of letting ourselves go, this year we may leverage the free time we have during the holidays to detox our kidneys!
And not just with this tea.
Because an herbal cleanse can be of help, but it only works if you also take care of your health with the right diet and lifestyle.
So, also check out my other videos about the best foods for people with kidney problems and the best workouts for your heart and kidneys.
And, as always, keep taking good care of your kidneys and be good to yourself.
This is all for today, thank you for watching.
